Summer is a perfect time to spend with family. Its the perfect season for home-cooked meals for kids and the kids-at-heart. Here are two of my favorite easy-to-prepare for you this summer!
Chicken ala Jolly King Rice Topping
A one-pot dish that you can prepare in less than 30 minutes (including preparation).
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 small white onion, chopped
2 chicken breast fillet, cubes
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp all-purpose cream
1 small head broccoli
In a pan, heat butter and add oil. (This is how i prevent small amount of butter from burning).
Saute garlic and onion.
Add chicken. Season with salt and pepper. Add oyster sauce.
Mix milk and cream until the mixture thickens.
Add broccoli and simmer for few minutes.
Serve over rice.
Jolly Mais con leche
A good source of energy for the outdoor activities this summer, rich in calcium and perfect for dessert that kids surely like
1 can (425 g) Jolly whole corn kernel
1 can (425 g) Jolly sweet cream corm
1/2 c milk
4 tbsp all-purpose cream
2 tbsp butter
In a pan, mix corn and milk. Bring to simmer.
Add cream and butter and bring to boil.
Serve while hot.
