We sometimes under estimate simple staple items at home to create a colorful, appetizing and rich-flavored dishes like Ligo Sardines.
In my experience, the thick and rich flavor of the sardine sauce creates not only a distinct taste of slightly sweet and sour flavor but it also brings color and texture to your fish that can be used as base ingredients for fried wanton or the protein component of a salad.
So here are some of the recipes I made with Ligo Sardines’ red and green variants. Simple and easy to prepare but are balanced meals and tasteful even in your eyes.
You will need:
2 cans of 155g Ligo Sardine, drained and deboned
1 small onion, chopped finely
1 egg
1 tsp flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Wanton wrapper
Spring onion
Oil for frying
Cooked rice
Broccoli, steamed
Tomato, chopped
Corn, peas and carrot, steamed
Procedure:
- In a bowl, mix mashed Ligo sardines. Add egg, onion and flour. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Wrap in wanton wrapper.
- Fry in oil and set aside to drain excess oil.
- Prepare rice bowl and add cooked rice.
- Top rice bowl with fried Ligo Sardine wanton, steamed broccoli, chopped tomato and corn, peas and carrot.
- Serve while hot.
You will need:
2 cans of 155g Ligo Sardine, drained and deboned
3 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil
Avocado
Cherry tomato
Chopped red onion
Lemon juice, salt, honey and olive oil for dressing.
Mixed greens
Procedures:
- In a pan, cook Ligo sardine with egg to make scrambled egg.
- When done, prepare greens and top with Ligo scrambled egg, avocado, tomato, cabbage and serve with dressing.
