Our seventh stop for the Davao Food Crawl has been one of the pioneering Japanese resto in the city that has survived the test of competition and fast-paced trends in food industry in the city. Tsuru Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar will definitely be in your list for Davao’s homegrown food establishment.
During our visit, we were able to try new items and Tsuru’s forward dishes–Spicy Pork Miso Ramen, Salmon Aburi Maki, Sakana No Cheizu Maki.
Sakana No Cheizu Maki Php495 |
Spicy Pork Miso Ramen Php375 |
Salmon Aburi Maki Php320 |
For big fan of maki and sushi, Tsuru serves generous amount of maki not to mention flavorful ingredients that will surely satisfy your cravings. The Salmon Aburi Maki was my favorite during the food crawl stop for obvious reason (I love salmon) but also because it creates a balance of savory treat. The seared salmon is made perfectly and that crunchy salmon skin plus the cheese and the sauce presents a sensual experience in your mouth. It is in itself a meal.
Another treat was the Sakana No Cheizu Maki which is really a breaded lapu-lapu (groper) with cheese. This dish while it may sound intimating will be a perfect option for your kids and a healthy alternative to chicken nuggets.
Overall, Tsuru is an ideal place to take your family to enjoy Japanese cuisine because they have a wide array of choices that you can enjoy in a cozy environment. They have branches in Matina, J.Camus (near Peoples Park) and Abreeza.
Thanks again Tsuru team for hosting our 7th stop! Arigatou gozaimasu!
