Are You Ready to Bramble?

July 11, 2019
Any great dining experience is qualified by great food and great service.
We went straight to where the social media hype is and it was sitting along Legaspi (Pelayo) Street near Rizal. Bramble is the latest addition to the Bondi group which highlights fresh and healthy produce.
The charming place is nothing short of being IG-worthy from its millennial pink interiors to its giant mural painting. It speaks warmth, joy and fresh—that sort of feeling you get during a vacation in a tropical island like Bali! From the short visit we had, we were able to try some food items (which were available), get a feel of their service and even talk to the chef himself.

Palate
An average of 3.5 to 4. There are winner items like the Tuna Poke and the Curry Pandesal and there were so-so items like the Prawn & Pomelo Salad and the Almond Chia Pudding. Least favorite was the Love Bowls which for me lacked a vital ingredient—love! The ingredients appear short and few. It’s not bad, don’t get me wrong but having tried some similar healthy bowls before, Bramble’s love bowl could use a lot of improvement in flavor.
Oh did I mention that all of our first choices were not available that day? Maybe due to the fact that it is an opening day when we visited and things can go a bit demanding all over the place, or it could be just lack of proper planning and forecasting.
Price
No price for your health and Bramble presents this argument to give the price point of their dishes. That would definitely come with a price. An average 2-dish meal can cost you from Php300-500 depending on your choice. Food is freshly prepared daily, can you put a price to that too? 😀
I guess the best evaluation for Bramble’s price position is “You get what you pay for”.
Service staff is a bit unknowledgeable in customer management which makes it less value for money. And when food is served on different times (my salad came latest), it causes a triggered feeling called hangry!
Place
Haven’t I mentioned how well-hyped and Instagrammed is this place? If I count the number of tagged photo from customers, It shouldn’t be a surprise why it has been well-hyped. The interior is classy and elegant but still has that laid-back feels. Each corner is prepared to be photo-ready or gram-worthy.
The comfort rooms are clean and spacious apart from the fact that someone broke the resto’s cubicle lock. Sadly, flies are seen both inside and outside the resto. Maybe because its a bit warm or humid but yes, there was a fly on the wall, literally.
