Three Coffee Experiences in Davao You Shouldn’t Miss

September 6, 2020
I am sharing three new coffee experiences in Davao that I recently discovered to make you loooooove coffee more.
1. Bring home coffee from around the Philippines with Juan Coffee.
Juan Coffee a Davao-based coffee online shop and sells local coffee from around the country. What is better is that their store also sells roasted and ready-to-brew coffee as well as green beans so that you can roast them to your preference. I actually enjoy and use their drip coffee which is the perfect solution to my lazy caffeine cravings. Luckily, I was able to try their Juan Sampler coffee drips which features coffee from Sagada, Kalinga, Sulu, Benguet, Bukidnon (Mt. Kitanglad).
For those who haven’t tried using drip coffee packs, here are some things you need to consider to enjoy the coffee experience better:
  • The drip coffee will “drip” better on a tall mug. Small teacups won’t allow the water to flow through and well, DRIP!
  • When pouring water to the coffee, allow it to bloom to make a better flavor. You can do this by pouring an initial amount of water and sort of “dampen” the coffee and leave for 30 seconds (correct me here, coffee connoisseurs). Blooming a coffee will allow degassing to your coffee.
  • I prefer using a water pot when pouring water because the pout will make sure that the water won’t spill.
2. Hang out in a new coffee shop at Stash Coffee Co.
Because #Covid happened, many small establishments were forced to close and cease operations. It was so refreshing to discover an establishment that recently opened and continued to operate. Stash Coffee Co. is your newest coffee destination to enjoy some of the best Davao coffee or find Purge Coffee‘s signature White Peak and even a drink or two from their off the menu specials.
Their menu is very simple and straightforward. The food is average but the coffee is an item not-to-miss. The baristas are very friendly and the service is excellent.
Did I mention the beautiful interiors and design? The equally Instagram-worthy place is a nook for all you and your friends who want to discover a new coffee shop in this new normal setting. Just remember that Stash Coffee Co is located on the second floor of TBT Building Inigo cor Porras Streets in Obrero, so don’t go looking for this beautiful cafe on the ground floor coz you won’t find any.
3. Take a sip of caffeine while surrounded by gorgeous motorcycle at Harley-Davidson Davao’s Harley Cafe

Wanting to buy an ultra-luxurious motorcycle? Or even just window shop one? Well, you can simply enjoy the sight while enjoying your cup of coffee paired with some pastries at Harley’s Cafe. Thanks to our former colleagues who invited us to their opening day a few weeks ago, we were able to sample the drinks and some food items.
North, South or want to bring your own coffee anywhere? There will be something for you. However, remember to observe health protocols-wear your mask, frequently wash hands, and observe social distancing.
