The festivities are done and it has been a week since we celebrated Davao Digital Influencers’ 6th Funtastic Anniversary at Eden Nature Park.
I’d like to share a blog post for my favorite blogging/ influencer group in Davao (excuse my obvious bias) as we celebrate another milestone this year. This post recalls our journey and a quick story of how we celebrated this year’s anniversary.
TeamDDI’s controversial beginning
DDI’s founding anniversary falls on the weekend of my birthday. As I vividly recall 6 years ago, we were heading to the House of Hope to celebrate my birthday and shortly, the founders gathered in a seafood resto and finally decided we are leaving our old blogging organization because we no longer believe in the same practice that they do.
A few days after, we registered our new group to SEC and Davao Digital Influencers Inc. was born. We wanted to make things right so we did everything we thought should be done in an organization–we listed in the right agency, we paid our dues to the government, and broaden our scope to not just blogging but social media and digital influencing–video bloggers, microbloggers included.
DDI became the first and only group to be registered as a social media organization. We supported the city and became the official partner of the Kadayawn festival in 2019. We also became partners with businesses and held several events around the city (and even traveled to other cities, too!)
We learned, enjoyed each other company, and together we also survived the worst part of the pandemic. We also lost members who did not continue their journey with us. We bid farewell to one of our founders, Momie Vanessa, and we said ‘see you again’ to some who left Davao City to pursue a greener pasture.
Davao Digital Influencers Inc may just be a pit stop to some but truly, it is an honor to meet and be part of somebody’s journey in life within and outside the organization.
Celebrating 6th Year at Eden Nature Park
We came full circle when a former colleague reached out to partner with DDI. Just in time as we were scouting for a place to celebrate, we agreed and held our anniversary celebration last August 14.
The event became our second time to meet in person as we have been celebrating in 2020 and 2021 through Zoom. And of course, as a support to our sponsor, Eden Nature Park, we got mesmerized by Nature, immersed in the Culture, indulged in their Culinary offerings, and tried (at least for some, not me) the Adventure rides.
While we tried all the activities we can at Eden, we also received support from other business who has continued a strong relationship with DDI.
